Chido Chido Bar and Cantina

The environment and products are good, the view from the window is good, and it would be perfect if there are more vegetable salads in the menu to relieve tiredness.

We were so fortunate to be invited to dine at chido chido which is a gorgeous new Mexican eatery located on level 3 of the Mercure Hotel in Doncaster. The restaurant has gorgeous views all the way out to the city making it a perfect spot for a date night or dinner with your family/friends!Our favourite dishes were the calamari which was sooo tender and super crispy on the outside (honestly was soo delicious and a huge serving) - it was paired with a guac and salsa which was just perfect! We loved the char grilled prawns as well which were so fresh, crispy and charred to perfection! We loved the corn (seriously unreal and a must!!! So sweet, juicy, the perfect char and so much flavour) and the watermelon salad (to break down all the heat) however the watermelon salad we had looked different to previous photos I had seen and we would have also loved the potatoes to be a bit crispier but they were perfectly spiced For mains we had the nachos and pork carnitas! The pork carnitas were really delicious, super moist and the guac was the perfect addition! My partner loved the nachos Desserts were fabulous! I had never had a baba dough before but it was delicious- so light and fluffy and paired perfectly with all the accompaniments. The churros were delicious, crispy and fresh and melted in your mouth but the dulce de leche was very light in colour to previous pics so maybe it was different slightly? Whatever it was, it was yum Drinks were incredible- my fave was defs the cucumber and chilli marg SO GOOD!!!Service was very attentive and friendly 4.5/5 We would definitely return- esp for an earlier dinner as there is a happy hour between 4-6pm!

food was good, we asked the waitress anna about the menu and she was beyond helpful. gorditas and and chicharron de cerdo are great

Delicious mexican cuisine with a commanding view!Took my partner here for a celebratory dinner and was not disappointed with our evening, Paul was our main server was genuinely the most friendly, warm and approachable as was the entire team that served us. As the establishment is still new and relativity quiet, they do look forward and welcome feedback.Dishes and cocktails came quite swiftly and was very pleasantly surprised with the watermelon tajin salad which is very refreshing on a hot day.Great range of cocktails with our favourite being the Black Marguerita which had a great combination of sweet and sour, with the salt rim enhancing the flavours even further.Standout dishes for us was the Sydney rock oysters, pan fried prawns and rib eye. Oysters were served with lime caviar, lime granita and a dash of tequila which made us go back for a second serve.Prawns were a very generous serve, quite large plump and sweet the combination of jalapeno and lime very hard to pass up.Much like the other dishes the rib-eye was a large cut, cooked exactly the way we liked it with the corn puree and almond and chipotle salad providing a very nice compliment alongside the steak.Overall a great experience and a wonderful first impression for Doncasters new kid on the block, looking forward to our next visit!

Went for dinner last Thursday, and the food and overall atmosphere were absolutely incredible. Staff went above and beyond for us while we had an amazing view of the city at sunset.Fresh and bold flavours on everything and the perfect taste of Mexican that the eastern suburbs needed. Highly recommend trying both of the Corditas, while the fresh fish, corn, nachos and half chicken were all unbelievable.Cannot recommend them highly enough and would go back over and over again. Can't wait to bring some friends.

Love the food here. Great atmosphere. Accor card holders get some good deals. Would recommend.

Been wanting to try chido Chido for awhile now and was not disappointed.Took my partner and friend and was warmly welcomed by friendly staff.We started off ordering our entrees which were Salmon ceviche, Adobo fried chicken and Watermelon salad.The surprise favourite here was the Watermelon salad, tajin and mint! This was just so refreshing and surprisingly delicious with the tajin. The adobo fried agave chicken wings were so juicy and tasted amazing. The salmon ceviche tasted fresh but felt something was missing in flavour...perhaps the orange needed to be sweeter, but still was good.We ordered our mains which were 2 slow cooked porks and the charred cauliflower.I was surprised how delicious the slow cooked pork was and didn't expect that much meat. It broke apart so beautifully and the apple and fennel complimented it so well in the juices of the dish. I wished there was more apple and fennel added to the dish but that's just me. My partner enjoyed that there was so much meat. My friend highly enjoyed the cauliflower and rainbow carrots alot. We shared my pork and cauliflower. Definitely a good dish for our vegetarian friends.For dessert we got the dark grilled pineapple and the churros.The churros were delish and definitely the favourite. Unfortunately the grilled pineapple was not. I can see it working with the tajin and chocolate mouse but the pineapple was just too sour and not sweet. If the pineapple was sweet definitely would work. The presentation was great.I can't wait to come back and try more soon! Very impressed The service, staff and chefs were all so friendly.
